Carl D. Lamb
B-Safe Training Manager

Carl is a 1982 graduate of Connersville, Indiana High School and a 1986 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Ky. with a B.S. degree in Police Administration 1986.  He was hired onto the Seymour, Indiana Police Department in 1987 and was a 1987 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.


A current member of the Seymour Police Department, he currently holds rank of Captain.  Carl is a certified Indiana Law Enforcement Academy instructor.  He was a former Detective for 16 years, and worked in undercover capacity for 16 years.  Carl also was supervisor of the detective division.  He is a past SWAT team commander and SWAT team member


Carl has served as a member of the Indiana’s Governor’s methamphetamine task force,  Southern Indiana Drug Task and was a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force.

Jason Alberring
Chadd Rogers

Jason is a graduate of Seymour High School, a graduate of Liberty University with an A.S. degree in criminal justice and a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.  He was hired onto the Seymour Police Department in 1999 and had worked at the Jackson County Sheriff's Department prior.  Jason has been a member of the SWAT team at the department.


He is a former Army National Guard soldier and paratrooper.   Jason was part of a Long Range Surveillance Company (LRS) team for the Army.

Chadd is currently with the Seymour Police Officer with 19 years on job.  Prior to that he was an officer with the Indiana Capital Police for 1 ½ years. Currently, Chadd is a firearms instructor for the Seymour Police Department.


Previously, Chadd was a defensive tactics instructor for 10 years and a member for the Seymour Police SWAT team for 10 years.


Chadd has completed the ALICE instructor training.


Chadd has a B.S. in criminal justice from University of Indianapolis.


Chadd is also a certified ILEA instructor

John Watson

John Watson has over 15 years of law enforcement experience. John is a graduate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Class 03-155. In 2007, John graduated from the Sniper/Observer Course at Camp Atterbury. John is a prior Operator and Sniper/Observer for the Seymour Police Department’s SWAT Team. John has held the positions of Patrolman, School Resource Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, and currently holds the position of Lieutenant.

Brandon White

Brandon White has been a certified Law Enforcement Officer in the State of Indiana for 14 years.  Brandon is currently employed at the Seymour Police Department holding the current rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division.  Brandon is a an active member of the departments SWAT Team and has been for 9 years.  He currently is the Assistant Team Leader and one of two Snipers assigned to the team.  He is a Law Enforcement Training Board Certified Firearms Instructor and has participated in numerous trainings in both handguns and rifles.  He is a SIG Sauer certified Armorer for the Classic Series and P320 Series of Firearms and a Weapons Systems Training Council AR Armorer.  He is also a Red Cross Certified CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.  He has also completed and participated in numerous Active Shooter trainings and currently has a A.L.I.C.E. Instructor Certification.  

Michael Payne

Michael Payne is a member of the Seymour Police Department Patrol Division. He has been employed with Seymour Police Department since July of 2011. Officer Payne graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, class number 193, in December of 2011. He graduated with honors and as the Guidon Bearer for his Academy class. He is currently a 6 year active member of the Seymour SWAT team. A Field Training Officer for the department and is also a 4 year lead instructor of the Seymour Police Departments Defensive Tactics Division.


Officer Payne graduated from Indiana University in 2005, with a Bachelor in General Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice. While attending Indiana University, Officer Payne was a scholarship athlete for their Swim Team. He swam competitively for them for 4 years. He continued his swimming career after college, when trained for and swam in the 2008 Olympic Trials in Omaha Nebraska.

Bart is a current Seymour Police Department officer where he has been so for 15 years.  Bart is a current member of the department SWAT team.  Bart is one of the department's firearms instructors and is a field training officer.  Bart is also Alice trained and certified. 

Prior to Bart's law enforcement career, he served 4 years active duty in the Marine Corps before obtaining his bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Western State Colorado University.  While living in Colorado, he was a member and Vice President of the Western State Mountain Rescue Team.

Derrick Shelley

Derrick Shelley is a 2010 graduate of Trinity Lutheran High School and a 2014 graduate of Ball State University, Muncie, IN with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Digital Forensics. He was hired onto the Seymour Police Department in the fall of 2014. He graduated with Honors from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in the spring of 2015.

Derrick currently serves the Seymour Police Department in the Patrol Division.  Derrick is a current SWAT team member. He is also a Field Training Officer for Seymour and has been an Instructor in the department’s Defensive Tactics Division for 3 years.
